- NASA/KSC has a requirement for four (4)Controllogix programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and the following associated components: System redundancy module- Qty 4 CLX, Redundant power supply chassis- Qty 2 CLX, CBL, redundant power supply- Qty 4 Enhanced isolated thermocouple- Qty 3 24/48 VDC ISO sequence of events- Qty 2 Controlnet 75 OHM Terminator plug- Qty 6 NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Allen-Bradley out of Mequon, WI, in accordance with the statutory authority U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). This is a sole-source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Allen-Bradley has been identified as the only known responsible source to complete the requirement based on compatiblility with existing equipment already in use at the Kennedy Space Center. The Government intends to acquire these commercial items using FAR Part 12. This notice of intent is not a request for quotation (RFQ) for competitive quotes. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort via e-mail to Mr. Rob Wolfinger not later than 4:30 p.m. KSC local time on April 26, 2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
