Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the Semiconductor Electronics Division, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Denton Vacuum, Inc. of Moorestown, NJ for service and maintenance for the Denton Tool Set. Sole source determination is based on Denton Vacuum, Inc. being the sole manufacturer and sole maintenance provider of the Denton Tool Set. Therefore, Denton Vacuum, Inc. is the only source that can provide preventative maintenance for this equipment, as the technology is proprietary to the company. Denton Vacuum, Inc. does not allow other companies to provide such a service. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333994, and the size standard is 500. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by May 4, 2006 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
