- THIS MODIFICATION TO PREVIOUS NOTICE DATED MARCH 8, 2006, NOTIFIES THE CONTRACTING COMMUNITY OF THE UPCOMING PROCUREMENT OPPORTUNITY (DETAILS LISTED BELOW) AND CHANGES BOTH THE ADVERTISEMENT DATE OF MARCH 10 AND BID RESPONSE DATE OF APRIL 11 TO MAY 9 AND JUNE 9 RESPECTIVELY. PROJECT DETAILS: This project consists of grading, drainage, paving, and bridge construction of 7.240 km of roadway (total project length including option work) for the NM PFH 12-1(6), Cuba LaCueva project located in Santa Fe National Forest, Sandoval County, New Mexico. Estimated price range is between $6,000,000.00 and $13,000,000.00. The project will start at 2 km (1.24 miles) east of Fenton Lake and proceed in a northerly direction ending at about 26 km (16 miles) southeast of the town of Cuba, New Mexico. The first 2 km (1.24 miles) will consist of reconstruction work with full width grading, drainage structures, rockery wall, and new structural asphalt typical section. A new 172-meter (564 feet) bridge will be installed over Fenton Lake. The remaining 5.068 km (3.15 miles) will consist of reconstruction work with full width grading, drainage structures, rockery and MSE walls, right-of-way acquisition, and new structural asphalt typical section. This solicitation contains 2 schedules and 1 option. Principal work items on the largest schedule include: survey and staking; lump sum contractor testing; soil erosion control (various); 8,000 m3 dust control; 14 ha clearing and grubbing; 124,000 m3 roadway excavation; 4,000 m3 ditch excavation; 21,500 m3 waste; 570 m3 placed riprap (various class); 1,750 m2 mechanically stabilized earth wall; 18,000 metric tons aggregate base; 45,500 m2 of 75 mm thick Superpave aggregate pavement; 540 meters precast prestressed concrete piles; 516 m3 structural concrete; 808 meters precast, prestressed concrete AASHTO girders; 12,322 kg reinforcing steel, epoxy coated; 59,101 kg reinforcing steel, galvanized; lump sum pre-fabricated steel bridge, 345 m bridge railing, steel; lump sum temporary support structure; 30 each bearing device, sliding; 575 meters pipe culvert; 2,960 meters of curb, asphalt; 4,390 m2 paved ditch, asphalt; 740 meters guardrail system, wood posts; 17,900 rolled erosion control product, type 3.B; fencing, gates and cattle guards; heavy equipment operators; mitigation; and associated seeding, mulching, planting, signing, and temporary traffic control. No sources of water or material are expected to be identified in the contract. Tentative advertisement date is May 9, 2006.
