Description
The Research and Development Classification Code is used because this is a Sources Sought Synopsis for the purpose of Market Research. The intended action will be for a production effort. The United States Air Force (USAF) is seeking interested sources to supply a fully qualified Panoramic Night Vision Goggle (PNVG). The PNVG is a very complex technical design using 16mm image intensifier tubes with improved capabilities over the third generation tubes with features such as auto-gating and reduced halo. The PNVGs have a 95 horizontal and 38 vertical degree field of view providing a sense of the horizon which is critical for situational awareness. Potential bidders must be able to deliver fully qualified and flight tested assets beginning January 2007. All qualification and test requirements shall be in accordance with the current PNVG Specification. To be considered, interested bidders must explain qualification and Government flight testing preformed to date and provide a sound plan on achieving any qualification and flight test shortfalls. This Sources Sought is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. Responses to the Sources Sought will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.202(e), a response to this notice is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this Sources Sought. This is a market research tool to determine the availability and adequacy of potential sources.
