Description

Lakehurst Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst New Jersey has a requirement for the following items in support of the KC-130J Program: Balance Flange, one (1) each, P/N- 7A071; and Balance Kit, one (1) each, P/N- 7BAL164. The Balance Flange P/N- 7A701 allows the KC-130J R391 Dowty Aerospace propeller to be attached to the Marvel balance kit, P/N 7BAL164 to static balance the propellers. Part Number 7BAL164 consists of cable, P/N 2294 (qty 1), protector, P/N 3007 (qty 1), weight, P/N 2998 (qty 2), ring, P/N 2742 (qty 2), arbor, P/N 3037 (qty 1), spacer, P/N 3392 (qty 1), and ring, P/N 3009 (qty 2). The Government intends to procure these items under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(C) (1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Marvel Manufacturing Company is the sole designer and developer of the static balancing set which can balance the Dowty R391 propeller and meet the static balancing procedures documented in NA 03-20GAJ-2-2 for the balance flange and balance kit. Marvel Manufacturing Co. owns the technical drawings, specifications, and data rights for the above items. The technical drawings are required to identify the dimensions, materials used, and performance limits. The government does not own the specifications, drawings or data rights. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
