Description
The Government intends to make award for a Google Search Appliance, Model No. GB-5005-5M-DIS, with two-year license, to include hardware, software, product updates, support, and product replacement coverage, 5 million documents, disconnected, to Onix Networking Corporation under their GSA schedule GS-35F-5519H. This award is made under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, FAR Subpart 8.404, and DFARS Subpart 208.404. Delivery and acceptance are FOB Destination to Alexandria, VA. In order to be considered, other interested persons must submit evidence of their capability to meet the requirements to the contracting officer not later than 2:00 PM Pacific Time April 28, 2006. The Department of Defense requires a hardware/software turnkey system that can be incorporated into the existing system architecture with minimal integration, and which can be pointed at all websites across the DoD enterprise, including the component services (e.g., the defenselink, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines dot mil websites), allowing the capability to search across domains. The salient characteristics include: Front-end search functionality -- Index up to 5 million documents. Ability to configure separate indexes of multiple sites and administrative roles for crawling, serving, and monitoring of all aspects of the search engine. Automatic spell check of queries to avoid missing results due to typos or misspellings. Results grouping to organize search results into intelligent grouping of similar or identical documents that reside in more than one location. Cached pages must be available in search results even when the origin sites are down serving cached copies of pages from the search server. Highlight query terms to quickly find the most relevant section of a document using the highlighted query terms displayed on cached documents. Provide HTML view of documents without needing the original client application of the file formats such as Word, PDF or Spreadsheets. Administrative Tools -- Monitoring of health, crawling and serving status via a standard SNMP interface. Ability to define synonyms for organization-specific acronyms or terminology and have those terms displayed as suggested alternative queries. (For example a synonym for SECDEF could be created to return content with ?Rumsfeld?, Secretary of Defense? etc.) Define matches between URLs and keywords so that targeted results appear above the main set of search results. Look and Feel Customizable to apply organization specific branding. Reporting View and export daily and hourly result sets, top queries, special feature Usage.
