Description

THIS ACQUISITION IS INDIAN PREFERENCE. Work under this project consists of the recommencement of construction activities to complete partially constructed buildings and site infrastructure which were interrupted in progress and the execution of construction that has yet to be initiated. The original contract for construction has lapsed and the Government desires to complete the project as designed. The original contract drawings, specifications and reports (geotechnical, etc.) as well as the pertinent changes and/or corrective action as developed and incorporated into the work prior to the cessation of construction activities including previously issued Addenda, RFI Responses, ASI Responses, submittal packages, etc., in part or in whole, are combined with Weller prepared As-built Drawings and Notations describing construction in place and its disposition, Weller prepared Administrative Procedures (Division 1), Government prepared Conditions of the Contract, Contract Forms and Bidding Requirements to form the Complied Bid Documents. The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, supplies, materials, equipment, transportation and incidentals necessary for the complete construction which is generally described as follows: 1) Sitework including new driveways, walks, parking, site amenities and landscaping within the campus (approximately 34.1 acres); 2) Construction of three (3) new Academic Buildings (approximately 133,097 sf), a Kitchen/Dining Building (approximately 20,532 sf), a Media Center (approximately 10,114 sf), and Gymnasium (approximately 26,600 sf) with connecting walkways; 3) Environmental remediation of asbestos, lead, bird and rodent droppings related to construction activities to existing facilities, including: Building 309 (Cafeteria) to be razed; Buildings 8, 9, 11 and 297 to be remodeled; Buildings 295 and 296 to be demolished and underground steam lines currently serving the listed buildings; and 4) Building Components: Exposed steel structure, concrete masonry units, long span acoustical structural deck, aluminum storefront and curtain wall, translucent wall and roof panels, metal studs, gypsum board, carpet, stained concrete floors and single ply roofing. All new facilities are to be located on the existing Tuba City Boarding School campus (Coconino County) on the mid-western end of the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona and is located approximately 83 miles north of Flagstaff, AZ and 2 miles northwest of the intersection of Highway 160 and Highway 264. Project Range: More than $10 Million. Best Value proposals are being solicited on a full and open competitive basis. Within 3 weeks after issue of solicitation, a pre-proposal conference will be held at the construction site. Details will be in the solicitation. Any questions or clarifications requested should be in written format and mailed to the Contracting Office referenced above in time enough to have answers at the pre-proposal conference. Cost per solicitation package will be $250.00, refundable to those unsuccessful firms upon return of unmarked plans and specifications to the BIA.
