Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement is being issued as a combined synopsis/solicitation and constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is being issued as an RFQ - Request for Quotation No. 06SQ110033. This acquisition is total small business set-aside and the anticipated award will be a Firm Fixed Price Contract The award will be made on a Purchase Order (PO), FOB Destination - with delivery to Anderson Ranch Field Office, 20465 NE South Fork Rd., Mountain Home, Idaho 83647. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 335929. The SB size standard for this code is 1,000 employees. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard. No paper copies will be issued. No telephone requests will be honored. Prospective offerors must register on the FedBizops site in order to receive notification to changes in the solicitation. Requirements are as follows: Furnish and deliver to Anderson Ranch Dam on or before July 10, 2006 - 5,000 feet of 600 volt control cable, per the following specifications. ANDERSON RANCH CONTROL CABLE SPECIFICATIONS (600 VOLTS) Control cable.- Multiconductor control cable shall be supplied in continuos lengths of not less than 2,500 feet on non-returnable reels. Cable will be used for control, metering, indication, annunciation, and relaying circuits; and circuits not identified as power circuits. The following types of cable shall be provided: (a) 2500 ft of 12-conductor, #14 AWG, shielded, 600-volt rating, (b) 2500 ft of 16-conductor, #16 AWG, shielded, 600-volt rating. a. Materials.- (1) This cable shall: (a) Be round. (b) Be UL listed Subject 83, 1277. (c) Have ASTM class B or C copper conductor. (d) Have AWG or kcmil designation. (e) Have coverings or insulation suitable for installation in the vertical position without injury to the covering or deformation of the insulation when supported in accordance with NEC article 300 19. (2) Color coding for control cable.--Color coding shall be in accordance with IECA K-2. Base colors shall be colored insulation or jacket compound. Use of color coatings applied to the insulation or jacket surface will not be acceptable. (3) Multiconductor control cable.- This cable shall: (a) Be suitable for installation in trays and conduit, for direct burial, and for general use. (b) Have insulation on individual conductors that is in accordance with NEC type XHHW or THHN insulation. (c) Have a binder tape or jacket covering. (d) Have shielding that conforms to ICEA S-66-524, part 4, except the type shall be limited to the following: (aa) Tinned Copper braid consisting of 24 groups of 6 or 7 No. 30 AWG wires per group, or the equivalent in total circular mil area providing a minimum coverage of 85 percent. (Example: No. 30 AWG wire has an area of 100.5 circular mils; 6 strands of the wire in 24 groups gives a total area of 14,472 circular mils.) (e) Have an overall covering (jacket) of thermoplastic or neoprene. (f) No splices will be allowed in multiconductor control cables. If an offeror has not completed the annual representations and certifications electronically at the ORCA website, the offeror shall complete only paragraphs (b) through (i) of this provision. A completed copy of this provision, as indicated, shall be submitted with the offer; quotes without this provision will not be considered for an award.
