Description

The Point of Contact (POC) for any information on this conference is Mr. David Johnson,Technical Industrial Laison Officer (TILO) at telephone number (813) 828-9482; email tilo@socom.mil. The United Stated Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) will host an Advance Planning Briefing to Industry (APBI) Conference in conjunction with Special Operations Forces (SOF) Week at the Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, FL, 19-22 Jun 2006. The event will offer an excellent opportunity for the Government to industry interface, providing long range acquisition planning information and provide a forum for industry to exhibit their products and technology. At the APBI conference, the future direction of SOF acquisition is presented in a keynote speech by the Special Operations Acquisition Executive. Briefings by the USSOCOM Program Executive Officers (PEOs) will provide budget information on planned acquisitions efforts to help potential USSOCOM contractors identify business opportunities and prepare for upcoming acquisitions. The Director of Technology and the Chief of Comparative Testing will provide information on existing technology efforts and USSOCOM technology interests to help organizations determine where they may want to spend internal research and development money. Briefings by the Director of Contracting, Technical Industrial Liaison Officer (TILO) and the Deputy Director of Small Business Office (SBO) will provide industry with information on how to pursue USSOCOM business opportunities.
