Description
ONLY ELECTRONIC QUESTIONS/RESPONSES TO elliotta@nv.doe.gov WILL BE ACCEPTED. ALTEC MODEL AM-855 installed over rear axle, built in accordance with Altec’s standard specifications and to include all standard features. 1. Lower boom storage protection system. 2. Continuous rotation. 3. Material handling system – hydraulic tilting two-section jib, winch and tool circuit. 4. Single handle control with double safety interlock. 5. Outrigger motion alarm. 6. Control purging system. 7. Two (2) operators and two (2) maintenance/parts manuals. 8. Insulated Aerial Device, Category B, 46kV and below. #215 Platform: Fiberglass, one (1) two-man, side-hung, 24” x 48” x 42” deep (nominal) includes 700# platform capacity. Hydraulically operated platform swivel (120 deg.) and hydraulic platform tilt with Jib/Winch. Hydraulic Tilting with -30 deg and +90 deg. tilt angle and (18”) Extending with power tool circuit, material handling hydraulically positioned jib tilt, 80 ft. of ½” double-braided synthetic rope, upper control valves for jib tilt and extension. Fiberglass covers and capacity placards. #259 Platform Liner – for single, two-man fiberglass platform 48” x 24” x 42”, 50kV rating (minimum). #310 / 295 Engine Start/Stop – installed at platform captive air operated, with secondary stowage system – electric powered, includes pump and motor and operated off truck battery. #241 Outriggers – Auxiliary, two (2) adjustable outriggers, flat shoe “A” frame each equipped with double pilot-operated check valves with two-spool control valve for individual adjustment. All controls at rear of vehicle. #244 Outriggers – Primary, two (2) adjustable outriggers, fold-up shoe “A” frame each equipped with double pilot-operated check valves with two-spool control valve for individual adjustment. All controls at rear of vehicle. #250 Outrigger Interlock System shipped loose. #391 Power Distribution Module. AERIAL DEVICE AND HYDRAULIC ACCESSORIES Primary outriggers are to be installed at rear behind rear axle. Auxiliary outriggers are to be installed between back of cab and front of body. All outrigger controls to be located at rear corners of vehicle to provide visibility of outriggers by operator. Hydraulic oil reservoir to be installed in aerial device pedestal. Hydraulic oil and lubricants installed. Sub-base assembly installed. Sub-base to stop just behind rear outrigger and prior to the start of tailshelf. Sub-base will have no rear storage capability. Fall protection system, includes one (1) extra large body harness and six foot decelerating type lanyard. Wheel chocks, pair, rubber, 10” x 9” x 5-3/4”. Winch load line swivel hook, 1-ton capacity. Adjustable boom storage support installed. Adjustable platform support, rubber tube type, installed. Pump, mounted to power take-off. Cab controlled heavy-duty SAE power take-off, for use with transmission type determined by chassis selection, installed with indicator light in cab. BODY: Aerial Service Line/Step body, suitable for installing on any dual rear wheel chassis with 120” CA dimension when used in conjunction with an aerial device This application is to use the latest design of the “Universal Large Aerial Body”. This includes the 24” long tailshelf with 3” lip on back and sides drain holes at corners 3/16” light panels and required access and egress components. Lower side pack height from top of cross member to top of body in conjunction with finished truck frames higher than 42” off the ground. Not including step frame application. Body – Fabricated from hot zinc-dipped galvanized steel with 100% iron-zinc alloy coating. 1. 16-gauge outside panels. 2. 18-gauge spangled steel shelving. 3. 14-gauge wheel panels. 4. 14-gauge end panels. 5. Safety tread plate floor. 6. 20-gauge door panels. 7. Structural channel cross-members. BODY DIMENSIONS: 1. 170” overall body length (nominal dimensions). 2. 93” overall body width. 3. 46” body height. 4. 18” compartment depth. 5. 57” cargo area width. 6. 3” body cross-members. COMPARTMENTATION LEFT SIDE: 1. First Vertical – Three (3) adjustable shelves with removable dividers on 4” centers. 2. Second Vertical – Six (6) adjustable locking swivel hooks, (1-4-1). 3. Third Vertical – Six (6) adjustable locking swivel hooks, (1-4-1). 4. Horizontal – One (1) plain fixed shelf extending through rear vertical compartment. 5. Rear Vertical – Top portion incorporated into horizontal compartment. Outrigger cutout. RIGHT SIDE: 1. First Vertical – Three (3) fixed shelves with removable dividers on 4” centers. 2. Second Vertical – Six (6) adjustable locking swivel hooks, (1-4-1). 3. Third Vertical – Access steps to cargo area (Gripstrut). Two grab handles, one each side of access steps. Drop-in wooden board to install at top of steps. Provide 12-gauge tread plate scuff panels on each wall of access step area. 4. Horizontal – Two (2) fixed shelves with removable dividers on 8” centers. 5. Rear Vertical – Five (5) fixed locking swivel hooks, (1-3-1). Outrigger cutout. ADDITIONAL: 1. Through shelf from second vertical left side to rear of body with hotstick brackets and rear door. 2. Wheel chock holders, one (1) each side. 3. Drop-in wooden tailboard at rear. 4. Master body security locking system. 5. Rigid door holders. 6. Grab handles, vertical/sloped design, installed at right side access steps. Included on body design per access and egress standards. One (1) each side. BODY ACCESSORIES: This truck is to have NO access at rear. All access is to be from curbside entry. Install ACCESS DECALS as required. Side access step, installed so that the step extends 2” beyond body. Access step installed in cargo area at right side for access to right side compartment top. Access step from right side compartment top to operator’s platform. Pintle hook T125 style or equivalent, heavy duty with frame reinforcement, installed 28” +/- 1” from ground to centerline of throat. Pintle hook to have secondary latching. Two (2) safety chain rings. One (1) set of splash aprons, installed behind rear wheels. Triangular reflector kit installed in cab behind seat on passenger’s side. Five-pound fire extinguisher with mounting bracket, installed in street side first vertical compartment. Rubber dock bumpers installed on right and left side of frame at rear. NOTE: Extend chassis frame to rear to allow dock bumpers to protect Pintle hook and glad hand connectors. Three-point grounding system tying unit, body and chassis to a common ground with copper “U” bolts installed at curbside front and rear of vehicle. Install glad hand connectors at rear of vehicle. Tractor package to be supplied with chassis. Outrigger pads, wooden, 24” x 24” x 3”. Outrigger pad holders, to accept 24” x 24” x 3” wooden pads. Install with pendulum retainers. ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES: Lights and reflectors in accordance with FMVSS #108 lighting package installed. Relocate chassis supplied trailer receptacle at rear near Pintle hook. Electronic back-up alarm installed. Amber strobe lights installed, one (1) each side of boom storage support with master switch and indicator light in cab. Strobe lights are to be visible from the front and rear of the vehicle. FINAL ASSEMBLY: Installation of aerial device and aerial device accessories. Miscellaneous hardware and materials required for installation of aerial and aerial accessories. Installation of body. Install safety-warning decals for general-purpose users. Shield exhaust from hydraulic hoses. Paint aerial device and accessories one solid color white to match cab. Paint body and accessories one solid color white to match cab. All walk surfaces, cargo area, access steps, compartment tops, etc are to be painted with black non-skid paint.
