Description
A MARKET SURVEY is being conducted to determine if there are adequate 8(a), Hubzone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned or Local and Small Businesses, headquartered in the South Carolina counties of Calhoun, Fairfield, Lexington, Kershaw, Newberry, Richl and, or Sumter, for this proposed project that meet the specific criteria. The proposed contract will be for the design and construction of a new Army Reserve Center, Regional Readiness Support Command on Ft. Jackson, SC as authorized by The National Defen se Authorization Act for FY 2006 (Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC)). The project includes construction of 79,935 square feet of administrative and storage space. The buildings will be permanent construction with reinforced concrete foundation, concret e floor slabs, structural steel frame, masonry veneer exterior walls, standing seam metal or asphalt shingle roofing, mechanical and electrical systems. Supporting facilities will include paving, site improvements and extension of utilities to service the project. Force protection (physical security) measures will be incorporated into the design including maximum feasible standoff distance from roads, parking areas, and vehicle unloading areas, berms, heavy landscaping, and bollards to prevent access when standoff distance cannot be maintained. This will be a Design/Build Request For Proposal acquisition using the Best Value evaluation method. 8(a), Hubzone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned or Local and Small Businesses contractors, headquartered in the Sou th Carolina counties of Calhoun, Fairfield, Lexington, Kershaw, Newberry, Richland, or Sumter, interested in submitting a proposal need to identify category (small business, SBA HUBZONE, etc.). Information provided must include the names of design/build pr ojects where role was prime contractor (add joint venture information if applicable) similar in size, nature and scope to this project, a short description of your role and the work performed (less than 200 words), and a letter from your bonding company st ating that you are bondable for a project of this size. Estimated Cost Range is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. Size standard is $31.M. NAICS is 236220. Planned for advertisement is June 2006 with award in August 2006. Contract duration 365 days.
