- The NATO Procurement and Supplies Service has released an official notification of Call for Bids regarding the renovation the common areas of NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. SCOPE OF PROJECT The project concerns renovation of the conference room concourse, entrance halls OA and OB, K-corridor and the corridor of the Salon des Ambassadeurs at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. MANDATORY SITE VISIT For bids to be taken into consideration, bidders must attend one mandatory site visit organized either on 12 May 2006 at 10:00 am or on 16 May 2006 at 2:00 pm. Bidders wishing to take part in the site visit (only one date) must submit documents confirming their participation by 09 May for the site visit on 12 May and by 11 May for the site visit on 16 May. Confirmation should include the following information: - Date of visit - Name and address of firm - Last name, first name, date of birth, and nationality of those attending On the day of the visit, participants must be in possession of a photo ID and must be at the site entrance at least 15 minutes in advance. The meeting point is the NATO Headquarters main entrance hall. (Walk in via the main gate near the flags.) Vehicles should be parked in the Visitor Parking Lost outside the main entrance. A copy of the General Contract Specifications (PDF file) is available to U.S. firms upon request from the U.S. Department of Commerce. Please note that Item 4.1 of the General Contract Specifications is modified and completed as follows: Prices quoted shall be exempt of all taxes and shall be firm and not subject to revision for this contract. Prices must remain valid until the end of the project. Bidders must complete all items of the bill of quantities. (See Part II of Specific Contact Specifications.) They must also include in their bid the Acceptance of Conditions Governing NATO Calls for Bids and the Site Visit Certificate that they shall receive at the site visit, duly completed. The type and length of warranties provided shall be specified in the bid. All references to any specifically Belgian or European standards, regulations, certificates, standard contract specifications, categories, codes, etc. shall be read as ?or the equivalent in the other NATO countries.? Likewise, all references to materials and products of a specific brand shall be read as ?or the equivalent,? the bidder being charged with providing the evidence of that equivalence. Bidders must attach to their bid, for information, a list of references covering similar projects, of comparable size, carried out in the previous three years for military, government or private organizations. The list must also include the names, addresses and telephone numbers of contact persons in the organizations for which those projects were carried out, in case NATO should wish to contact them.
