- Brand Name Justification: The facility where the equipment will be used is composed of a network of multi-platform systems, large format flat panel plasma displays and audio/video equipment such as VCRs, LCD Projector Systems, etc. The setup, installation, evaluation, tests and demonstration of various in-house programs utilizing the aforementioned equipment requires restaging for each program to be implemented. To alleviate a majority of time that it takes for the restaging process a prototype KVM switching system was procured from Black Box that was constructed using specific components and demonstrated to function as required. As a result of this success the current infrastructure will be supplemented, enhanced and expanded. The requested Black Box accessories are state-of-the-art customized apparatus specifically designed to interface with all equipment utilized within the facility. Utilizing components other than specified has resulted in configurations that do not function properly for the purpose intended or cannot interface properly to the environment.
