- DESCRIPTION Military Hospitals- (Army, Navy, and Air Force) TRICARE Region Europe is considering standardizing and establishing a Regional Incentive Agreement (s) (RIA (s) for Sharps Containers and Accessories. This is not a request for bids but an invitation to part icipate in a product line review process that will result in a selection of vendor(s) to provide this product line to MTFs within the European Region. Vendors must be able to provide a full line of product and meet regional product volume requirements; pr ovide representatives and product for vendor demonstrations at no charge to the government; and conduct product in-services for medical facility staff as needed. MILITARY HOSPITALS - TRICARE Europe Region, a military integrated delivery network, comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical facilities in Iceland, Great Britain, Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Turkey. ELIGIBILITY WILL BE DEPENDENT ON THE FOLLOWING: 1. A list of clinical criteria and instructions will be provided to vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers who are willing to participate. These vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers must be holders of a Distribution And Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP), distribute products through the DSCP Prime Vendor (PV) program, and carry a full line of product for the items being considered. A company must be a DAPA Holder to participate in our standardization process. Do you manufacture products under NIOSH standards made of plastic or a shatterproof material that is durable and non-collapsible, free of heavy metals, and recyclable? 39. Are products available in clear, translucent, or opaque material? 40. Containers designed to reduce the potential for injuries as sharps are placed in the container? 41. Containers designed to prevent overfilling? 42. Containers designed to prevent spillage of the contents if it is tipped over? 43. Containers leak proof while upright and if tipped over? 44. If container has a handle, is it positioned away from the opening and sturdy enough to handle the weight of a full container? 45. Are floor containers designed to prevent access to the interior contents? 46. Are floor models large enough to accommodate long disposable instruments such as laparoscopic clip appliers? 47. Include a complete product line and a variety of sizes (chemo waste, large volume requirements, phlebotomy vacutainer needle removal (not permitted to remove needles), etc and, but not limited to 8 gal., 12 gal. and 18 gal.)? 52.
