Description
This is not an announcement of a solicitation. This is a Request for Information, (RFI), for U.S. Geological Survey, (USGS), planning purposes based on industry interest, price, and schedule information to design, construct, and deliver an SBand Exciter System to the USGS capable of supporting an uplink signal to achieve proper coherency with NASA standard Earth Remote Sensing satellites. The satellite ground station at the Center for EROS in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, performs satellite SBand telemetry, tracking and control (TT&C) for several missions including, but not limited to, Landsat 5 and Landsat 7. The station is looking for an SBand exciter which can properly sweep the uplink signal at a user input desired rate to achieve coherency with Landsat 5 and Landsat 7. The SBand exciter must be able to take its input directly from an Avtec Programmable Telemetry Processor, (PTP), which would be a 2KBPS signal modulated on a 16 KHz sub-carrier at TTL levels, and then the exciter must linearly phase-modulate this signal onto the SBand carrier. A more detailed list of specifications can be provided upon request. Industry response is solicited to indicate level of interest, what capabilities are currently available, schedule information for design, construction and delivery for such a system, and commercial pricing information in as much detail as possible. Proprietary data that contains restrictions on its release should not be submitted. No formal solicitation or contract will result from this synopsis for industry information; any subsequent solicitation will be synopsized prior to its release. Information responding to this request should be received within 21 calendar days from publication of this notice. Any questions or further definition of the specification should contact either of the following: Michael O'Brien DCPF Senior Hardware Engineer Technical Support Services Contractor EROS, Mundt Federal Building Sioux Falls, SD 57198 Phone: (605) 594-2656 mobrien@usgs.gov Or Keith D.
