Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a delivery order on a sole-source basis under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) Number N00019-06-G-0012 to Combat Displays, Inc., 17001 Science Drive Suite 100, Bowie, Maryland 20715-4330 (?CDI?) for SCRAMscreen? display technology. CDI?s affiliate and business partner in connection with the continued development, marketing, sales and distribution of SCRAMscreen? technology, SCRAM Technologies, Inc. (?SCRAM?), has developed projection screen display technology that potentially improves the optical characteristics of existing projection displays. This technology is proprietary to SCRAM, and is in turn based on patents held by, or exclusively licensed to, SCRAM. SCRAM has licensed or sublicensed CDI for the exclusive use of this technology and these patents in military applications. In an effort to assess the feasibility of this technology in the airborne environment, the U.S. Navy intends to contract with CDI to develop and demonstrate avionics displays based upon this proprietary projection screen technology. The contractor will be tasked to develop an airworthiness certified unit as a conceptual replacement for the 20.1 inch AMLCD display presently deployed on E-2C Hawkeye 2000 (HE-2K) aircraft. Work in performance of this delivery order is intended to assess the scalability and leveragability of the SCRAMscreen? display technology. See Note 22.
