Description

The Naval Air Systems (NAVAIR) Command has a requirement for the Raytheon Company, 1151 East Hermans Road, Tucson, AZ 85734, to update the AIM-9X Electronic Arm Fire Device (EAFD) design. Raytheon shall integrate the EAFD hardware on the AIM-9X missile, verify the build and conduct qualification testing. Raytheon shall also conduct EAFD preliminary environmental testing to verify EAFD compatibility with the AIM-9X missile performance envelope. Raytheon shall conduct an AIM-9X MK 36 Rocket Motor test stand firing with the prototype EAFD design. Raytheon is the only firm that possesses the unique experience, proprietary data, special skills and facilities and manufacturing techniques to perform this effort in the required timeframe. As such, Raytheon is the only contractor that can perform the integration of the EAFD. NOTE 22 applies.
