Description
This synopsis is in reference to the previously released solicitation N00019-05-R-0115, as it has been determined to be an unrestricted procurement, open to all small and large business entities. The United States Navy, Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River, MD has a requirement to modify the VSI/TRA displays as part of the Traffic Collision Alert System (TCAS). The scope of the effort shall be for the contractor to: 1) check serviceability of VSI/TRA incoming display units, 2) repair as required; and 3) modify the display unit per Service Bulletin 457400-34-084 to conform to DO185A standard (change 7, table 2-16, Mapping between RA, aural annunciation and ARINC world 270 contents). After modification, the contractor shall be required to test, assure and certify the unit?s serviceability, and deliver the upgraded VSI/TRA displays to the U.S. Navy for use on airborne weapon systems platforms to fulfill Navy fleet requirements. Estimated quantities for each of these items range up to 214 TCAS VSI/TRA display systems over a 12-month period. It is anticipated that the proposed contract type will be Firm-Fixed Price (FFP). This procurement is unrestricted. The solicitation will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FEDBIZOPPS) web page and the NAVAIR homepage located at http://www.navair.navy.mil. For the NAVAIR homepage, select ?Doing Business? and then click on ?Open Solicitations.?. Hard copy of solicitations and amendments will NOT be mailed to contractors; therefore, electronic copies will only be available. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available on/or around 15 June 2006. Once released, the proposal requirements will be specified in the solicitation under Section L. Also, the Statement of Work and all exhibits and attachments will be provided with the solicitation.
