Description
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The Federal Bureau of Prisons, United States Penitentiary Leavenworth located at 1300Metropolitan Avenue, Leavenworth KS, 66048, is seeking proposals from responsible contractors for the sale and recycling of recyclable commodities. SCHEDULE OF ITEMS: All scrap metal items are in lot 1 on north side of institution. Approximately 20 Semi loads of scrap metal. Contractors are cautioned that this is an estimated weight, and as such, the actual weight could vary significantly. Please provided a proposed pickup schedule and payment schedule. EVALUATION FACTORS: The Government intends to make an award to the offer of whose proposal represents the best value to the Government. Contractor agrees to pay USP Leavenworth for the recycling of scrap metal identified for disposal. Description of Scrap Metal: Scrap metal cutouts, Used welding rods, Wires, Cables, Wire Rope, Used Zinc Anodes. Types of Metal: Steel, Stainless Steel, Brass, Copper, Aluminum, Copper Nickel, and Lead. Condition of material: Material is scrap and must not be used for its intended purpose. Deliveries and Performance: The Contractor agrees to pay the USP Leavenworth for scrap metal recycled and bare its cost of transporting recyclable material to their facility. Approx 20 loads ferrous and non- scrap metal, including furniture, beds, wheelchairs, wheelchair parts and misc metal. All sold as scrap, as is/where is. We have accumulated approximately 20 semi truck loads of both ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal. The sale will include scrap furniture, beds, wheelchairs, wheelchair parts and other miscellaneous scrap metal. All items are to be sold as SCRAP. The successful bidder will be responsible for the complete removal of all scrap from the these areas. Successful bidder will provide manpower and equipment necessary for the removal of the scrap. Scrap will be sold - " AS IS - WHERE IS." You are invited to inspect and submit a bid for this SALE, if interested. Inspections will be on 5/03/06 from 8AM till 4PM.. All bids must be received no later than 2PM CST on 5/05/06, at the following address: USP Leavenworth 1300 Metropolitan Ave. Leavenworth, KS. 66048 Successful bidder will be notified by telephone. Upon being notified (s)he must make payment before complete removal of the scrap. All scrap must be removed by June 1, 2006 unless otherwise specified.
