Description
The Stanislaus National Forest is soliciting competitive offers for the Quartz-Summit Knobs Stewardship II Project. The Quartz-Summit Knobs Stewardship II Project is located within T.4&5N., R.14.E and T.5N., R.15E., M.D.B.&M. Sealed ? ?Best Value? offers will be received at the Forest Supervisor's Office at 2:00 p.m. local time on May 3, 2006, for an estimated volume of 1,255 CCF (667 MBF) of Ponderosa/Jeffrey Pine sawtimber, 57 CCF (30 MBF) of Sugar Pine sawtimber, 157 CCF (89 MBF) of White/Red Fir sawtimber, 87 CCF (49 MBF) of Douglas-fir sawtimber, and 498 CCF (236 MBF) of Incense Cedar sawtimber marked or otherwise designated for cutting on 331 acres with mandatory and optional stewardship projects. In addition, there is within the contract area an estimated 3,882 green tons of Combined Softwood non-sawtimber (biomass) that the offeror agrees to remove at a fixed rate. In addition, the contract area contains an estimated volume of 3,673 green tons of Combined Softwood non-sawtimber that the offeror may agree to remove. Stewardship projects are: small tree (non-sawtimber) thinning, machine piling vegetative debris, shredding, and removal of stacked and machine piled biomass. A workshop and show-me-trip for prospective offerors will be held on April 7, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at Independence Hall, 1445 Blagen Road in Arnold, CA. The Forest Service will evaluate competitive offers submitted by offerors who present a price offer and technical proposal according to the information found under the section in the offer titled ?Instructions to Offerors.? Evaluation factors for this project are organizational experience, organizational past performance, local community economic enhancement (including small business enhancement), understanding the Government?s requirements, and price. One award will be made to the offeror whose proposal is technically acceptable and whose technical/price relationship is the ?best value? to the Government. The Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all offers. A prospectus is available to the public and interested offerors from the offices listed below.
