Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; A SEPARATE WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services intends to negotiate with only one responsible source, Alpine Technology Group LLC, 1920 Pike Road, Longmont, CO 80501, using simplified acquisition procedures, for the acquisition of : STAR software for the development of surveyor assistant tool to aid in the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) survey process. It will help maintain conformity in the survey process nationwide. It will also allow new information to be gathered that will allow the CMS analysts the ability to better review and find new trends and areas where improvement is necessary in the survey process. The STAR software will be refined to both the coding and interface with existing products. It will also be directly incorporated into existing software being used to capture survey data for other provider types (ASPEN )Suite. The proposed contractor was the developer of the ASPEN software. The contractor has knowledge of the program code and the CMS functions in order to complete the process. STAR was developed by another contractor, however, during the development phase support was given by Alpine Technologies to build the interface between STAR and ASE. Alpine Technologies has knowledge of both programs and will be allowed to merge them into a single entity. The Government intends to negotiate with only one responsible source pursuant to the authority of Part 6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Therefore, this notice is not a request for a submission. However, interested parties may submit a description of their capabilities to perform within 5 days of this notice and the submission will be considered.
