Description

The U.S. Department of State, Regional Procurement Support Office and the U. S. Embassy, Quito, are seeking qualified offerors for construction of antinarcotics police headquarters at the Port of Tulcan, located in the Carchi Province of Ecuador. The project consists of 2550 square meters of office and residential buildings, 2000 square meters of parking and patio areas, and a 250 meter access road to the facilities. The buildings include troop barracks for 100 people, laundry, kitchen, dining room, conference room, bathrooms, offices, kennels, jails, warehouse, and an inspection site. Additionally, the facilities will include air conditioning (split system), a communications system, and fire alarms. The project also includes a potable water system, a sewage and storm drainage system, and an electrical system that includes one electric generator. The solicitation is planned for release to qualified offerors on about May 15, 2006, for contract award in June 2006. It is anticipated that construction will begin as soon as possible after contract award, with a performance period of approximately nine months from contract execution to substantial completion. The resulting contract type will be firm-fixed price, and the estimated value of construction is between $1,600,000 and $2,000,000 (U.S.). Proposals will be accepted from both U.S. and non-U.S. firms.
