- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented by additional information included in this notice and in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition procedures authorized in FAR Part 13.5, Test Program Procedures. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is NEEH4000604025 and is issued as an Invitation For Bids (IFB). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-09. This is set-aside for small business NAICS code 541512, Size Standard $23M. Any amendment(s) hereto will only be published in the FedBizOpps. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) requires a hardware upgrade to improve throughput and expand storage capacity of an existing Storage Area Network (SAN). The present system configuration is an ADIC Scalar 10K robotic tape library with 6 LTO-2 tape drives & 500 of 1785 tape slots useable in a capacity on demand configuration and a Cisco 9509 SAN switch with 32 FC ports. Specific make and model ADIC controller, LTO-3 tape drives, Data Direct Networks RAID disk subsystems and Cisco data network switch components are required. All hardware must work together in the existing SAN system at the National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) in Boulder, CO that uses ADIC Store Next Software (SNMS) and Linux servers. All necessary cabling and adaptors shall be included. The system shall be fully hardware compatible with the NOAA Comprehensive Large Array data-Set System. Installation and three years maintenance (on existing hardware as well as all new hardware) shall be included. Required make and model components: 1.
