- Description
- This request for information/sources sought announcement is issued to identify potential sources and gather information on current capabilities within the market. The Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program is considering the purchase of an automatic sound level meter (SLM) calibrator for acoustic and electrical calibration of sound level meters, acoustic calibrators, pistonphones and microphones in accordance to national and international standards. Test signals are to be in compliance with IEC 60651, 60804, ANSI S1.4, and OIML R58 and R88 to provide fast and accurate calibration of ANSI S1.4 Type 1 and 2 sound level meters and fast and accurate calibration of sound calibrators in accordance with ANSI Std S1.40. If the SLM under test has a bus interface, then setup and reading of data from the SLM is performed via the bus. If the SLM has a DC output, and if a satisfactory relationship between the SLM's display and the DC output is established, then the test can be run semi-automatically. Tests of octave and fractional octave filters are to be in accordance with IEC 61260, ANSI Std S1.11 - 1986 and -2004. Choice to perform frequency response calibration of microphones using electrostatic or acoustical methods, will be available during the calibration. Bruel and Kjaer P/N 4226 acoustical calibrator is already owned by the lab, and it's capabilites may be incorporated into the Automatic SLM Calibrator. The estimated quantity is four units with an option of an additional for a total of up to eight units. Surplus or used material is not acceptable for this item.
