Description
Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Technical Standards Profile Request For Information (RFI). THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. THIS REQUEST IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY, AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN INVITATION FOR BIDS, A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, A SOLICITATION, A REQUEST FOR QUOTES, OR AN INDICATION THE GOVERNMENT WILL CONTRACT FOR THE ITEMS CONTAINED IN THE RFI. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT REIMBURSE RESPONDENTS FOR ANY COST ASSOCIATED WITH SUBMISSION OF THE INFORMATION BEING REQUESTED OR REIMBURSE EXPENSES INCURRED TO INTERESTED PARTIES FOR RESPONSES TO THIS RFI. The USAF Electronic Systems Center 642nd Electronic Systems Squadron (642ELSS, formerly the Force Protection System Squadron) at Hanscom Air Force Base is supporting the Security Equipment Integration Working Group (SEIWG), which is a standing subcommittee of the Physical Security Equipment Action Group (PSEAG). The PSEAG is the central manager for Physical Security Equipment (PSE) Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) funding within DOD. SEIWG membership includes the US Air Force (USAF), US Army (USARMY), US Navy (USNAVY), and the US Marine Corps (USMC). Its mission is to coordinate and influence system architecture, technical design, and systems integration of all PSE to be used within the Department of Defense. One of SEIWG?s efforts is the development of a common Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Technical Standard Profile (TV-1) to be used by the four services for future acquisition of PSE. This is an integral part of the process of developing a joint PSE technical architecture for application to all DOD PSE design and acquisition efforts. The USAF through the 642nd Electronic Systems Squadron (642ELSS) is serving SEIWG as the Lead DoD organization in standardizing device interfaces for the SEIWG. To ensure that the industry is aware of our efforts in developing a common list of standards to be used for physical security equipment, and to ensure that the maximum number of vendor?s equipment can be accommodated in our security solutions, we are soliciting comments on this draft technical standards profile. Information provided by the vendor may be shared with the US Army, the US Navy, the US Marine Corps, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Energy, and the four IBDSS contractors under the terms of USAF Contract Nos. F19628-03-D-0011, -0012, -0019, -0021, Integrated Base Defense Security System (IBDSS). The IBDSS contractors are Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Abacus Technology Corporation, ECSI and L-3 GSI. All responses to the RFI are requested to be received by May 31, 2006. All RFI submissions shall be e-mailed to: roy.higgins@hanscom.af.mil and casey.pellizzari@hanscom.af.mil with a cc to: priscilla.busa@hanscom.af.mil .
