Description
The Space and Missile Center intends to contract for continuation of the MDA products and services as well as to perform various rapid prototyping initiatives. This task supports participation in the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) activities for the planning, pre-event preparation, integration and dry-run test support, event support, and post event data delivery and analysis for BMDS Ground Tests (GTs), sometimes also called Missile Defense Integration Exercises (MDIEs). This task also provides support for Missile Defense System Exercise (MDSE) meetings; provides System Hardware and Security Support, and supports preparation of pre-test documentation for MDSE Builds; It also supports MDSE Build testing through the Run-for-Record tests and supports requirements verification and preparation of post-test documentation. It allows continued support for integration of system functionality equivalent to the current SBIRS SBR (Increment 1 ground software) into the SBIRS MDSE representation segment of MDSE. Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, Azusa, as the manufacturer for the DSP sensor and developer of the software is qualified to continue the development and enhancement of this effort in a timely and cost effective manner. Northrop Grumman Electronics Systems, Azusa has access to engineering information not available in existing Government specifications, drawings and manuals, as well as the telemetry data, communications lines and a special compartmentalized information facility (SCIF) which are key components for meeting the operational mandates. The period of performance for the extension effort will commence on 01 Oct 06 and continue through 30 Sep 2007. The government intends to award this contract effort on or before 01 Oct 2006. This synopsis is a notice of intent to award this effort to Northrop Grumman Electronics Systems, Azusa as an extension to the current on-going effort and shall not be considered a request for offers. This is a sole source effort to be awarded to Northrop Grumman, Azusa, CA Note 22 Second Point of Contact: Van Choat, (310) 653-4536
