Description
This is a sources sought announcement only. This announcement should not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. If a solicitation is developed it will be advertised through FedBizOpps and the Fort Lewis Directorate of Contracting (DOC) website (www.lewis.army.mil/doc). The Army Contracting Agency (ACA) Northern Region, Directorate of Contracting, Fort Lewis, Washington is seeking information on the availability of contractors to provide aerial fire suppression services. The standby support will be firm fixed price. In the event that a fire occurs, flying hours will be reimbursed on an hourly basis. This will be a non-personal services type contract to be performed at Yakima Training C enter, Yakima, WA. ACA DOC seeks industry input to determine if this proposed requirement will receive adequate support as a total set-aside IAW Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 19 to meet the following minimum requirement: To perform onsite fire suppression services at YTC from ? hour before official sunrise until ? hour after official sunset for the period of 1 Aug 06 through 31 Oct 06; Provide standby services as well as a 15 minute response time for fire suppression; Provide delivery of at le ast 2,000 gallons of water within the time necessary for a military CH-47 with a 2,000 gallon bucket to make a single trip. Recent technological advances in the aviation industry indicate that faster aircraft with initial delivery of less than 2,000 gall ons can meet this requirement. Interested firms who are certified and qualified as a concern in NAICS 115310 are encouraged to respond and submit their notification to this office NLT COB 15 May 06. In the event that at least two capable small business concerns respond, this requiremen t will be set aside for small businesses in accordance with FAR Part 19.502. To assist in maintaining a list of interested sources (both large and small) for this potential procurement, your response should include company name, address, point of contact, phone and fax number, email address, NAICS code and business size to the POC for this procurement: Ms. Tricia Allen (253) 967-4902, email to tricia.allen1@us.army.mil.
