Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a contract for engineering services for the development of a data package for preliminary design of a Flexible Payload Module (FPM) for the Tomahawk All-Up-Round (AUR) missile. Designing the FPM to the Tactical Tomahawk Vertical launch system (TT VLS) interface will require support to review existing TT VLS operational requirements and interface control documentation; support engineering studies on impact of depth of launch and safety review of the network based control system. NAVAIR intends to award this effort to Raytheon Systems Company (RSC), P O Box 11337, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337. RSC is the sole developer, designer, and manufacturer of the Tomahawk AUR. Only RSC possesses the current configuration and manufacturing data for the Tactical Tomahawk missile. RSC currently manages the key requirements, interface, integration and verification documents of the TWS. Because a detailed knowledge and expertise of the Tactical Tomahawk missile is required to perform this effort, RSC is the only source capable of providing the design, integration , test support and analysis necessary to insure the 12 TT VLS FPM configuration replicates the existing VIRGINIA CLASS Bow payload interface in the required timeframe and without duplication of costs.
