Description
The response date is extended to Jume 7, 2006, see solicitation. The following additional information is provided for clarification related to the Big Pasayten Bridge Construction Project: The site visit is scheduled for May 25, 2006 at 9 am at the Canadian trail head. The project area is located on the Boundary Trail #533 mile post 39. The nearest town is Princeton, BC. For those planning to attend the formal site visit, the Forest Service can assist with arrangements for border crossing. Provide the full name, mailing address, social security number, birth date, birth place, and home phone number of each person going on the site visit. Send that information to either Kris Bellini, Contracting Officer at kbellini@fs.fed.us, fax # 509-826-3064 or to Dave Colbert at dcolbert@fs.fed.us . The border crossing will not be at an established port of entry. The Forest Service will notify the US Border Patrol of the date and location of the crossing, and provide information about each person in attendance. For the assistance with the border crossing, potential contractors must cross the border, from Canada into the United States via the wilderness trail, with the attending Forest Service employees. Crossings on different days or times will not be arranged by the Forest Service. US citizens will need to have in their possession a certified copy of their birth certificate and a driver's license, or a passport to cross the border. Contractors must commit to the site visit by May 9th or arrange their own border crossing. Driving directions to trailhead in Canada - traveling east on Highway 3, proceed 11 miles east of the Manning Park Resort. Turn right onto the Pasayten River Road. Or, traveling west on Highway 3, proceed 28 miles west of Princeton. Turn left onto the Pasayten River Road. From the intersection of the Pasayten River Road and Highway 3, proceed 12.5 miles to undeveloped trailhead. Forest Service representatives will be at the trailhead at 9 a.m. The nearest lodging to trailhead is the Manning Park Resort (1-800-330-3321). There are also several motels in Princeton, and campgrounds in Manning Park. The solicitation with specifications and drawings should be available May 8, 2006.
