- Provide all labor, equipment, and materials to install a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Real Time Tracking (RTLS) System for real time asset tracking for the VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN under Request for Proposals RFP 618-124-06. The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a system consisting of: Tags, Interrogators, and System Software that will interface with AEMS/MERS (VA proprietary software), and installation of same. It is estimated that approximately 1000 pieces of equipment will be tagged initially. The number of interrogators required is unknown and may be dependant on the efficiency of products, placement, and the areas to be covered. Interrogators are expected to cover defined egress points in some locations, defined zones in other areas, defined high resolution areas, and defined room coverage, with the latter two based on square footage. The VA is seeking the latest commercially available products. NAICS 334220. All responsible and interested offerors should download solicitation RFQ 618-124-06, complete required sections, and submit hard copy along with technical and cost proposals not later than Monday, May 15, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. Solicitation documents and drawings will be available no later than Monday, April 17, 2006. Facsimile or other electronic responses will NOT be accepted. The VA has scheduled a PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE/SITE VISIT for Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 1B-102 at the VA Medical Center, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. At the conference prospective contractors will have the opportunity make inquiries of VA staff as well as suggest better or alternate methods, materials, and equipment. While the Site Visit is not mandatory, prospective contractors are advised that FAR 52.236-3 Site Investigation and Conditions Affecting the Work apply.
