- Description
- The US Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District intends to initiate an Invitation for Bid (IFB) procurement for the Marine Design Center to obtain one (1) 50 foot steel Workboat. The vessel is intended to serve the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntingdon District in support of its Marmet Lock Replacement Project mission. The vessel shall be a self-propelled, twin screw, diesel-powered workboat of all welded steel construction. The vessel shall have two engines with a minimum continuous rating of 250 Hp each. The vessel shall be approximately 50 feet long by 18 feet wide. The maximum draft of the vessel shall not exceed 5 feet, 6 inches. The vessel shall include a small, unheated deckhouse, with sufficient space for deck storage and the inclusio n of an electric incinerator toilet space. The Pilothouse shall be provided with air conditioning and electric resistance heating. The vessel will be designed and built in accordance with American Bureau of Shipping rules for Steel Vessels on Rivers and In tracoastal Waterways, and U.S. Coast Guard and other marine construction regulatory standards. With the exception of some specific components of the vessel, such as tailshafts, propellers, and steering gear, the vessel will not be classed by any regulatory agency. Testing will be required and must be performed in open water prior to delivery. This acquisition will be performed using the procurement process prescribed in Part 14 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Liquidated damages are included in this c ontract and bonding is required. The IFB is intended to be issued on or about 22 May 2006. IFB W912BU-06-B-0012 will be available at the FedTeDS website, www.fedteds.gov, on or about 22 May 2005. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax request s will be accepted. Contractors shall download this IFB (including drawings) and all amendments from the Internet Web Page at the following address https://www.fedteds.gov on or after the issue date of the IFB. The official media of distribution for the IF B is the FedTeDS website. All amendments to this IFB will be posted to the FedTeDS website at the above address. Hard copies will not be furnished. It is contractor responsibility to monitor the solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov for notification an d links to any amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet Web Page. If any of the contractor information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile at the FedTeDS website . Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause for delay in receiving notification of the IFB and Amendments. Contractors are responsible for printing copies of the IFB and any amendments.
