Description
The US Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command (C-E LCMC) on behalf of the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Communications and Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC), Nigh t Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD), is soliciting through the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) process proposals for innovative application of sensor integration technology that supports, enhances or stands alone with existing Force Protec tion sensor technology or architecture. These technologies shall focus on the missions of area security, border surveillance and standoff detection or manned suicide bomb threats. This BAA will also include interest into unique sensor integration technique s and /or the seamless interface into existing FP sensor system of systems architecture for area security/border surveillance (e.g. Cerberus, the integrated security sensor trailer, or the current Suicide Bomb Detection sensors Gauntlet). The FPS-TMD effor t is to evaluate and demonstrate promising technical concepts, their technical maturity and operational utility for the missions stated above. The objectives of the FPS-TMD program are: * Advance the state of the art of traditional Force Protection sensors * Stimulate the innovative applications of non-traditional Force Protection Sensors * Seek to leverage investments in other sensors and system integration efforts made by industry, academia, DoD and other Government Agencies * Demonstrate the operational utility of integrated sensors for the suggested FP missions. This announcement is an expression of interest only and does not commit the Government to make an award or pay for proposal preparation cost. The cost of preparing proposals in response to this BAA is not considered an allowable direct charge to any resul ting contract or to any other contract. The technical point of contact is Michael Jennings (703) 704-1032 email mike.p.jennings@us.army.mil. Copies of the BAA will be available only by accessing the Army Single Face to Industry, Interactive Business Opportunities Page (IBOP). The Army IBOP can be accessed via the World Wide Web (see below). Proposals MUST be submitted no later than 2:00 p.m. (EDT), 07/05/06. In addition to submitting electronic proposals via the IBOP, contractors shall submit two hard copies (per below) and one electronic copy on CD-ROM, as follows: Two (2) Proposal Sets to: US Army CERDEC, RDEOM Night Vision & Electronic Sensors Directorate ATTN: AMSRD-CER-NV-SPPD (Jennings) 10221 Burbeck Road Fort Belvoir, Virginia 22060-5806.
