Description
This is NOT a Solicitation-the VA is seeking out SDVOSB?s who can provide this service outlined below. If you are a SDVOSB, please reply to the contracting officer of your company?s interest in submitting a proposal on the work GENERALLY described below. Note: The NAICS coded used is 238210, though the work covers the pulling and installing of communication cable. This will be considered a Service Contract. This is not all inclusive, but rather an Overview of the requirement: a. Cabling. Contractor is to replace existing Cat 4 data cabling, jacks and faceplates in approximately 45% of the facility to include many different existing IDF?s and floors, but all within the main facility building. b. Panduit or Conduit locations. There are locations that will be either panduit or conduit c. Fire Stop. Contractor will be allowed to use any existing fire or smoke wall sleeve whether conduit stub or ceiling tray. Contractor is to strictly comply with fire code which calls for sealing penetrations at the end of each day regardless of returning to the area the next day or not. When existing cable is removed, it is the responsibility of the contractor to fire stop any sleeve that was emptied whether partially or completely. d. Penetrations. Where a penetration is required, contractor is to provide the sleeve material, fire stop and labor to install according to local current smoke or fire code rating using the VA fire rating blue print as a guideline. e. Cable tray. Contractor is required to use cable tray and adhere BICSI standards when ever leaving the cable tray or when the cable tray is missing to include J hooks or similar of the size rating for the amount of cable passing through. When removing fire stop and/or fire pillows from a tray that passes through a fire or smoke rated wall it is a fire code requirement that it be sealed back up at the end of each day regardless of returning to the area the next day or not. f. Closet preparation for cutover. An additional data rack, supplied by the VA, will be used as a floating rack until a whole closet is ready and the weekend cutover is done. g. Cable removal. Removing the old cable will be a requirement of this contract h. Certification. Printed certification of each cable passing the rating tests that it is identified for will be the responsibility of the contractor. i. Autocad. It is required that an AutoCad latest version soft copy of the blue prints with the new cable location and new number scheme be supplied j. Blue Prints. Blue prints of existing locations and a AutoCad soft copy of blank prints will be supplied by the VA. k. Storage. The VA will supply adequate secure storage for contractor materials. l. Time line. Contractor project manager is to submit a time line of anticipated dates and events to the VA project manager. Time line is a guide for scheduling purposes. m. Saftey. At all times safety for patients, visitors and employees should be held in highest regard. Safety cones and OSHA safety standards are to be used at all times. n. Dress code. Professional business attire relative to the work environment. o. General facility access. Facility is open 6am to 6pm and VA project manager hours are 8am to 4:30pm. p. Project Manager. Contractor will have a project manager on site and schedule a weekly meeting for update status to the project time line. q. Warranty. Contractor will warrant materials and workmanship for 1 year. 2. Pricing 1. a. Scope. Replace approximately 1862 Cat 4 duplex data locations with new duplex cabling of qty 1 yellow Cat 5E and qty 1 green Cat 6 cable for each location, etc. 3. Pricing 2. a. Scope. Replace approximately 1862 Cat 4 duplex data locations with new duplex cabling of qty 2 green Cat 6 cables for each location, etc.
