Description
Description: The Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS) intends to award on a sole source basis to Bohemia Interactive Australia Pty Ltd, 262 Gan Road, Anna Bay, NSW 2316 Australia in the amount of $850,000 for additional design and development of VBS1 and to obtain an enterprise license to distribute VBS throughout the Marine Corps. VBS is a privately funded, proprietary commercial-off-the-shelf product. The Government will procure an enhanced VBS training system capability that will emulate the tactical combat environment and allow squad leaders, team leaders, and team members to practice the appropriate cognitive skills. This effort will require enhancement of the current VBS training systems that are resident throughout the Marine Corps. The primary goal of the enhanced VBS training system (to be called Virtual Tool Kit) is to create a mission planning/rehearsal tool for Company level and below to include the ability to train to the Mission Essential Tasks as identified in NAVMC 3500.87 Infantry T&R Manual. This requires a robust virtual environment which includes accurate models, behaviors, and physical environment. Special emphasis shall be placed in the following areas: urban operations, mounted operations and combined arms (to include all surface and air delivered ordnance). System will include editor capabilities to include a content management editor, simulation center editor and scenario design editor. All questions, concerns, and information should be addressed to Mr. John E. Lynch at john.e.lynch2@usmc.mil or Lt Col Gregory Caldwell at Gregory.r.caldwell@usmc.mil or mailed to Mr. John E. Lynch at: Marine Corps Systems Command PMTRASYS 12350 Research Parkway Orlando, FL 32826-3275 Fax: 407-381-8807. No phone calls will be accepted. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUCTED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, OR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS AT THIS TIME.
