Description

The U.S. Coast Guard intends to solicit, and award a sole source procurement to Ketchikan Public Utilities (KPU) in Ketchikan, AK. The Coast Guard has a requirement to procure new infrastructure for power and telco service through the local public utilities company. Ketchikan Public Utilities (KPU) is the only local electric power and telephone service utilities company for Ketchikan, Alaska. They are the only known vendor that can move the existing electric power meter into the generator building at the south site, upgrade the existing communications line and install a new communications line at the north site for utilities services. The U.S. Coast Guard has determined that only KPU can provide theses services. The Coast Guard has determined therefore that competition is not available. If no responses are received within fifteen (15) days with sufficient information to determine that another responsible source is available, negotiations will be conducted with KPU Telecommunications. Performance shall be in accordance with the standards contained in applicable purchase order clauses contained in the award. This solicitation will be unrestricted. The NAICS Code is 221119. The contract type will be firm fixed price. Negotiations with KPU will begin on or about 25 May 2006.
