Please note: This amendment to this synopsis adds the Estimated Magnitude of this Project. See below. PROJECT TITLE: Sac Bank Pocket Area Critical Erosion Sites LOCATION: Sacramento, California Estimated Magnitude of this Project is between $10,000,000 and $15,000,000 This Procurement will be conducted under FSC CODE: Z299, SIC CODE: 1629, NAICS Code: 237990. The size standard for this code is $31,000,000. Information about the time and location of the sit e visit will be found in Section 00100 of the specifications. TYPE OF AWARD: This acquisition is proceeding as an Unrestricted Invitation for Bids (IFB) with any resultant award being a Firm-Fixed-Price construction contract. JOB DESCRIPTION: This project will repair eight (8) erosion sites of the levee along the Sacramento River in the Pocket area (River Mile 49.6, 49.9, 50.2, 50.4, 50.8, 51.5, 52.4, and 53.1). Work will consist of riprap rock placed bank protection on the water-side of the l evee (to include riprap berm backfill), rebuilding the toe bench to include anchoring in-stream woody material, and seeding of all disturbed areas with native grasses. COIR Fabric may also be required. With the exception of seeding, work performance will be accomplished from the water-side of the levee, requiring the use of a barge(s) and any associated equipment required for the rock placement. The stone gradation that will be required is as follows (Stone Weight Pounds:Cumulative % Finer by Weight): 4 00:100; 250:70-100; 100:50-80; 30:32-58; 5:15-34; 1:2-20; less than ?-inch max dimension:0-10. The total preliminary estimated quantity of riprap that will be required is 183,000 tons. All BIDS will be due on/about 20 June 2006/1:00 pm PST, at which time bid opening will occur. The acquisition method is Invitation for Bids (IFB). OFFERORS ARE ADVISED THAT THIS PROJECT MAY BE DELAYED, CANCELED OR REVISED AT ANY TIME DURING THE SOLICITAT ION, SELECTION, EVALUATION, AND/OR FINAL AWARD PROCESS. ORDERING SOLICITATION: The solicitation will be available on or about 25 May 2006.
