- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), intends to negotiate with Air Technologies, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA to procure for a SP6-Hankison compressor system, Horsepower (ea) 5 (Total: 30 HP), Performance 15.2 SCFM @100 PSIG (Total: 91.2 SCFM), Air Receiver 120-Gallon, Vertical, Sound Level 78 dBA @ 1 METER with all pumps in operation, Voltage 460/3/60. BASE UNIT DESCRIPTION: Oil-less rotary scroll multiplex system with 6 compressors mounted on rigid steel frame. System to include vertical air receiver and desiccant air dryer all mounted and plumbed together on a separate steel skid. Each compressor to have the following, Baldor high efficiency 1725 rpm motor, V- belt drive, OSHA compliant belt-guard, air cooled aftercooler with 20 degree approach temperature, isolation mounts, flexible connectors, and remote intake where compressor intakes are manifolded together to a common Solberg 10 micron inline filter/silencer for piping outside. Bypass piping for each compressor to allow for service without shutting the system down, which consists of a diverter valve, and check valve all piped to a common discharge manifold. Discharge to have filter/moisture separator with auto drain and all drip legs where required will be supplied with manual drains. CONTROLS: NEMA 4/12 Enclosure with main circuit breaker, 6 full voltage contactors with overloads, 1 power on light, 6 run lights, 6 HOA selector switches, 6 ETM's, overload malfunction light, (2) 120 volt control transformer sized for supplying power to all controls, dryer, and drains. Fuse-less panel with lockable motor protectors to allow for service on each individual unit without shutting down the system. Also a back up control transformer and a back up circuit in case of PLC malfunction. PLC controlled alternation with a minimum pressure of 85 psig and maximum of 115 psig. Controls are UL 508A labeled and listed and conform to all NEC standards. System to be completely factory packaged and tested. AIR RECEIVER: 120-Gallon, Vertical, 200 psig, ASME code receiver with safety valve, sight gauge, pressure gauge, internal lining to resist corrosion, 3-valve bypass, and auto electric drain valve. DESICCANT AIR DRYER: Twin tower dryer model ACO017008 shall be sized for an inlet capacity of 90 SCFM. The dryer continuously dries compressed air by using two identical towers, each containing a desiccant bed. While one tower is on-stream drying, the other tower is off-stream being regenerated. The towers are alternated on and off stream so that dry desiccant is always in contact with the wet compressed air. The filtration systems shall consist of one pre-filter rated at 0.01-micron filtration, and one after-filter rated at 1micron filtration. Dryer Model ACO017008 instrumentation shall include choice of eight purge economizer energy savings settings, Switches for: ISO class dew point, On/Off, Alarm and Service reminder reset, Operational LED lights for: Power-on, tower status, valve status, and tower pressure, Service reminder LED lights for: filters and drains, valves, and desiccant, Alarm LED for valve switching failure, and RS232 communications port. Dryers shall be plumbed with bypass piping and shut-off valves to enable service of either dryer without interrupting the supply of air to the system. MONITORING EQUIPMENT: Dew point monitor with audible/visual alarms & dry contacts for remote alarm signal. Firms that believe they can provide the required equipment are encouraged to identify themselves and give written product information to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the date or this presolicitation notice. A determination not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. If the agency determines to compete this requirement, a RFQ will be issued solely to the responders of this notice and a subsequent presolicitation notice will not be issued. All vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) prior to award of a federal contract. Vendors may register @ www.ccr.gov. Please address all inquiries to Denise Rains (509)354-8111, (509)354-8099 fax, or e-mail dgr8@cdc.gov. Simplified Acquisition procedures will utilized.
