Description
NASA Glenn Research Center plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for A SYNCHRONOUS MACHINE. This project shall include a 7.2KV variable speed synchronous machine for the Single-Spool Turbine Facility, (SSTF). The machine shall be brush type, designed for constant torque, (36,217 ft-lbs, for 661 RPM ? 1800 RPM), and will be used as the drive and load for a high-efficiency turbine. The machine shall be supplied with jacking pumps. Three (03) working days of support services shall be provided during the Integrated System Test (IST). Final acceptance and activation of the warranty shall be provided at the completion of the IST. OPTION: Lubrication System for the Synchronous machine, to include Design, Fabrication and testing of a lubrication package. The equipment shall be supplied with a warranty for a minimum of 3 years starting from the time the manufacturer?s representative completes the Government Integrated Systems Test (IST) final checkout. The magnitude of the Construction project is estimated between $500,000. and $1,000,000. A FIXED PRICE CONTRACT is contemplated. This work is considered ?HEAVY AND CIVIL ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION?. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238290 and $12.0 million in three-year average anneal receipts. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT. The Period Of Performance shall be stated in the IFB. All qualified responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. THE SOLICITATION SHALL BE POSTED AS SOON AS AN RFO OPENING DATE IS ESTABLISHED. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of specifications and drawings] will be available over the INTERNET. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 2000 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
