- Description
- This vessel is for use by Forest Officers providing access to land based activities, passenger and cargo transport, and support of river management operations throughout the Wild and Scenic Snake River corridor. The vessel shall be reconditioned so as to withstand at minimum useful life of 10 years continuous rigorous use in whitewater rivers with year-round exposure to the natural elements including frequent rock and sand beaching without damage to operational components. This vessel will be refitted with twin in-board diesel motors and twin 241 Hamilton jet pumps with turbo impellers. The entire vessel shall be reconditioned, inspected, and certified as a small passenger vessel. Final inspection and acceptance by the Forest Service requires the vessel to pass a United States Coast Guard Marine Inspector?s check for compliance with 46 CFR, parts 175 through 187 (sub chapter ?T? regulations) - USCG certified for partially protected waters.
