Description

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration Nevada Site Office (NNSA/NSO) is to conduct a subsurface investigation at Corrective Action Unit (CAU) 542 and has tasked Stoller-Navarro Joint Venture (SNJV) to execute the work for the project. SNJV is soliciting to procure drilling services at the Nevada Test Site, Area 3. The scope of this investigation requires drilling and backfilling a minimum of five boreholes to depths ranging from approximately 100 feet (ft) up to 420 ft below ground surface (bgs) to collect subsurface soil samples. Some of the deeper borings may require the installation of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) casing to control borehole sloughing. The planned total footage is approximately 964 ft and the expected period of performance is 65 days. Depending on field conditions, revisions to the scope of work as defined in this document (i.e., advancement of additional boreholes or deeper boreholes for a potential total of 1,434 ft) may occur. The actual footage and period of performance are dependent on conditions in the field and the analytical results from soil samples. The SNJV anticipates a Time and Materials Construction contract with a performance period of April 12, 2006 ending August 18, 2006. The solicitation/RFP will be issued electronically.
