- Fleet & Industrial Supply Center ? Norfolk Naval Shipyard Maritime Industrial Branch, Hampton Roads Division proposes to contract for two (2) each Metal Disposal/Shipping Container, DOT Specification 7A, Type A, in compliance with DOT regulations, Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) as referenced within the specifications and Department of Energy (DOE) sites Savannah River and Hanford Waste Acceptance criteria. Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining the waste acceptance criteria from the referenced sites. Container shall be manufactured of Carbon Steel (ASTM A36), rectangular profile with nominal external dimensions 216 inches long X 100 inches wide X 120 inches high (nominal), payload capacity 90,000 lbs., bolted and gasketed closure on end and one side, for use with a specific dry radioactive waste item of external dimensions and profile provided in the specifications which will be provided with the written solicitation when issued. The contractor will be required to provide various test reports, certification of proof of inspections and approvals IAW detailed specifications set forth in the solicitation. Delivery will be to Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA 23709-5000. Requirement will handled utilizing simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. NAICS Code 332431 applies with a size standard of 500 employees. Closing date will be established in the solicitation when issued. Important Notice: DFAR 252.204-7004 REQUIRED CENTRAL REGISTRATION (CCR) applies. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
