Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, and supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The USDA Forest Service, North Central Research Station, St. Paul, MN has a requirement for 30 Field PCs with a monochrome display and bluetooth options (128m/512m). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for brand name equipment?Allegro CXWTH Field PCs (Part No. 14624) manufactured by Juniper Systems. The use of this brand name Field PC is essential to the Government?s requirements. The Forest Service needs the Allegro brand because the equipment must be integrated into the existing analysis software system, which utilizes other Allegro brand field pcs. This solicitation (No. AG-63PX-S-06-0011) is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation and consequent contract award incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-09. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334111 and the size standard is 1000 employees. The equipment will be shipped to the USDA Forest Service, North Central Research Station, 1992 Folwell Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108. Quotes will be received in the Acquisitions Management office no later than close of business on May 30, 2006. The Government estimate is less than $70,000. Award will be made to a responsible contractor whose offer is the lowest, acceptable price and most advantageous to the Government. Award will be made on May 31, 2006. The provisions at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors?Commercial, applies without addenda. Offerors shall include a complete copy of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications--Commercial Items, with quotes. Under the FAR clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions--Commercial Items, applies without addenda. The FAR clause 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. The successful offer(s) shall comply with FAR 52.204-7 Central Contractor Registration (Oct 2003) and FAR 52.232-33 Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer--Central Contractor Regulations (Oct 2003) prior to contract award.
