Description
The following Questions and Answers are posted from a site visit conducted on 9 May 06. No further changes to this combined synopsis/solicitation. Ref: Purchase Request F3N7A05298A300 Questions and Answers from Site Visit Conducted on 9 May 06 Question: Will the contractor be required to haul the wood off base, or can they discard it on the base somewhere? Answer: The wood will need to be hauled away and disposed of off base. Question: Will the contractor be required to remove the stump and roots of the trees in question? Answer: The stump must be removed, or cut off, a minimum of 12? (30.48 centimeters) below ground and the area will be properly landscaped and seeded upon completion. Question: Can current to the energized power lines at Building 302 be shut off for a few hours to remove limbs that are close to the power lines? Answer: Yes, the power can be shut off for up to 3 hours while adjacent limbs are cut away from the power lines. Question: Can communications cables between Buildings 101 and 110 be removed and placed on the ground during work? Answer: The cables belong to various agencies including Telefonica and would require coordination with them in advance. We recommend that the cables remain in place. Question: What is the Period of Performance for this requirement? Answer: The period of performance will begin shortly after contract award (pending govt. coordination) and continue until 30 Sep 06. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation. The applicable NAICS code is 561730. Description Of Service: Remove/tear down by cutting to pieces two (2) large eucaliptus trees at/by North end wall of building 101 and three (3) large eucaliptus trees at/between South end wall and parking lot of building 302. Statement Of Work: Request services non personal be contracted for furnishing labor, equipment and transportation to remove/tear down by cutting to pieces (to ground level) two (2) large eucalyptus trees (one of 25/30 meters and other of 10/15 meters high) at/by North end wall of building 101 and three (3) large eucalyptus trees (25/30 meters high) at/between South end wall and parking lot of building 302. Contractor will be required to remove all debris, repair job site ground, and apply residual herbicide in trunks. Contractor will utilize proper equipment to safeguard safety of personnel and buildings. Job will require a power outage in coordination with CE because of high voltage lines involved at building 101. Quotes must be good for a minimum of 30 days.
