Description
Solicitation for the possible standardization of Electrosurgical supplies for TRICARE Northwest Region. Those companies interested in a possible Regional Incentive Agreement (discounted DAPA pricing based on volume) with TRICARE Northwest must meet the following criteria and fully respond to the following questions: Electrosurgical Supplies (criteria): Return Electrodes (Grounding Pads): Do your products possess monitoring technology that minimize patient injury? If so, please describe. Do you manufacture various sizes of return electrodes for use on different patient populations, i.e., neonatal, pediatric, adult and bariatric patients? Does your return electrode package labeling include lot numbers and expiration dates? What clinical benefit(s) does your return electrode provide, i.e., contact quality, moisture barrier, dispersive capability? Electrodes: (Electrocautery Pencils): What types of surgical modes can your companys electrodes deliver? Are your electrodes available with more than one type of control, i.e., push-button, rocker switch, etc? Please describe. Does your electrode enable the surgeon to adjust power settings from the surgical field? What, if any, type of holster is available for your electrodes Electrocautery Accessories: Are your cautery tips available in various types, i.e., needle, blade, ball, loop? Do your companys cautery tips come in more than one length? Explain. Are your cautery tips easily cleaned to prevent buildup of eschar? Explain. Does your company manufacture/distribute both monopolar and bi-polar accessories? What technology is used to ensure that coating on your tips (if present) does not crack or flake? Technical Criteria: 1. Do your Electrosurgical supplies meet AAMI and AORN standards? 2. Does your company manufacture or distribute electrosurgical supplies? Under what brands/labels? 3. How are your electrosurgical supplies packaged? 4. Can your electrosurgical supplies be used with any manufacturers equipment? 5. Are your company products (electrodes, pencils and accessories) latex-free? 6. Does your company have a 1-800 # for customer questions? 7. Does your company have a clinical education program for customers? Describe material available and type of clinical support (brochures, video tapes, interactive access to web, etc.). Will product in-service and education be available upon request after product implementation throughout the length of a possible agreement? 8. Does your company have a Distribution agreement with Cardinal Healthcare? 9. Does your company currently possess, or is in the process of obtaining, a government Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA)? If you have a DAPA, please provide the number. 10. Does your company have the ability to service the entire product needs of Military Treatment Facilities in the TRICARE Northwest Region (Washington and Alaska)? Please provide your companys distribution network. Does your company have product repre sentatives for each account? If so, where are they located? 11. Describe your companys proposed implementation plan if you were to enter into an agreement with TRICARE Northwest Region. 12. Describe your companys return goods policy. 13. Provide a history of back orders and/or recalls for this product group with dates, duration, cause, and how information was communicated to the customer, interim measures and final resolution. 14.
