Description
The NIH intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Innovate Interfaces Inc. 5850 Shellmound St. Emeryville, CA, 94608. Innovate Interfaces will provide hardware and software services to the. The NIH plans to upgrade its computer server hardware for the Library?s integrated library system from an Alpha DS10 to a Sun V240 Platform. The NIH also plans to acquire two SIP2 interface licenses that are needed to use with a third-party self-check machine for library patrons to check out books through the circulation module of the III integrated library system. This server hardware upgrade from Alpha DS10 to the Sun V240 platform is required to support the III Millennium Release 2006 software will add capabilities to the acquisitions, serials, cataloging, circulation modules of the Library?s integrated library system and the online catalog and make additional demands on the server hardware. The Library?s current server is more than five years old and will soon be phased out because it will not offer adequate performance to support the Release 2006 software. The server hardware upgrade shall include: Millennium Sun V240 CPU 1GHz Ultra SPARC III processor 2 Gb Memory 4x36 Gb UltraSCSI Disk Drives (10,000RPM) Software 9 Operating system Millennium application license to run under Solaris operating system Internal DVD-Rom drive 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Connectivity (4ports) U107 UPS 1.4 KVA with Powerwatch software (no extra cost for Powerwatch software) 400 W Power Supply External 20/40 4mm DAT tape drive Associated cables/controllers a) Machine setup, software services, migration of database and users b) One day on-site service (including expenses) c) Shipping, insurance The interface licenses shall include: (3I0I) SIP2 Circulation Interface 1st license for use with third-party self- check machines (3I0IA) SIP2 Circulation Interface 2nd user license The period of performance is 30 days from the date of award. It is believed that Innovative Interfaces is the only known source that can satisfy the government, due to their familiarity with the existing integrated library system. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 518210. The proposed quote is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received within 15 days after publication on this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
