Description: The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an Order under NAVAIR Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-05-G-0026 to procure 372 Flash Removable Memory Modules for retrofit and forward fit use in the F/A-18 aircraft in accordance with ECP 6296 Step 2 "Solid State Recorder RMM Redesign Due to PCMCIA Parts Obsolescence." NAVAIR intends to negotiate this Order on a sole source basis with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516. MDC is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of the F/A-18 Weapon System, and only MDC has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data, capability, resources and expertise required to perform NAVAIR's requirements.
