- The Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA), Office of Secure Transportation (OST) is considering the fielding of laser range finder w/binocular, we request information on products currently in production that meet the following requirements: Optics: Observation is binocular with magnification of 7X or greater; objective diameter between 30mm to 42mm; reticule to be cross or rectangular selectable; and the exit pupil no less than 3.8mm. Rangefinder: Laser type is Class 1 eye safe; range capability 5m to 2000m or greater than 2000m; accuracy +/- 2m; power supply to be commercial batteries with 123 lithium preferred; battery capacity is greater than 6000 measurements to include a low battery indicator; distance readout in meters, yards. Environmental conditions: Operational and storage temperature at -35c to 70c; 100 percent waterproof/fog proof with a sealed gas filling, i.e. nitrogen; and must meet or exceed current US Military Standard for shock and vibration. Physical conditions: Housing shall be shock-absorbing ruggedized; black preferred for unit color; compact size no grater than 650g w/batteries. Requested Information: Interested firms are asked to submit information that provides the following: (1) Company point of contact and address/phone/e-mail, (2) Proposed estimates, (3) Period of performance/delivery schedule - Describe estimated delivery schedule after receipt of a purchase order, (4) Capability - Describe how your product meets the requirements of this announcement, (5) Photograph/s, diagram or artist depiction, (6) Warranty Information (7) Any other qualifications, certifications or other technical or contractual information you deem appropriate to aid the Government in their assessment of this activity. Small Business Preference: DOE/NNSA is a strong advocate for the small business community and interested small businesses/lead teams and joint ventures that qualify as small businesses are especially encouraged to submit a response to this notice. The NAICS for this effort is 333314 Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing with a size standard of 500 employees.
