- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Great Lakes Region has a requirement to refurbish the Airport Traffic Control Tower and Base Building at Waukegan Regional Airport, Waukegan, Illinois. Work includes, but not limited to: 1. Furnish and install mechanically attached, single-ply, PVC roof system on top of existing built-up roof, including all flashings, sealants, adhesives, walkway pads, and other components to comprise a complete roofing system. 2. Touch-up painting of the existing handrail around the cab walkway. 3. Remove all existing window frames, glass lites, and metal spandrel panels within a 4-foot wide vertical strip, centered on the south and west sides of the tower; furnish and install new window frames, glass lites, and metal spandrel panels in the same locations. 4. Refurbish the existing storefront type windows and metal spandrel panels on the Base Building, and furnish and install new vision lites at all locations 5. Rework existing sidewalk at interface with parking Lot to provide ADA access ramp, and provide new sidewalk from this point to front. 6. Remove the existing fluorescent light fixtures in false ceiling of Base Building, and furnish and install new energy efficient light fixtures. 7. Remove doorknobs from thirteen doors in Base Building, and Base Building Link, and furnish and install new lever handles. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the specifications and contract provisions under the subject contract. Award of a firm-fixed-price contract is being contemplated to a responsible offeror who submits the responsive offer for this requirement. NAICS Code is 238290 This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
