Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA intends to award a purchase order to Coonamessett Farm, 277 Hatchville Road, East Falmouth, MA 02536-4009, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 through request for quotation number EA133F-06-RQ-0496. Only one responsible source is available to satisfy the agency requirement to fabricate two (2) modified dredges and perform a study on catch comparisons between the modified and standard dredges. Coonamessett Farm is the only known organization to have developed, built, and monitored the modified dredge in turtle interactions with scallop dredge gear. Coonamessett Farm also holds the total allowable catch (TAC) set aside project designed to test and evaluate the modified dredge. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. All information received by 12:00 p.m., EST, 06/04/2006 will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Responses to this notice, if any, must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government.
