Description
Correction***The solicitation will be issued on or about June 2, 2006. Incorporate Brand Name or Equal Justification The use of brand name or equal purchase descriptions has been determined to be required to adequately meet the government?s technical requirements for the scope of work intended. Brand name products specified and identified above are known to be acceptable and of current manufacture for ship repair activities. All known physical or functional characteristics of the products specified that are essential to the intended use are contained within the work item specification or referenced technical drawings and publications referenced within the specification. Identification by brand name does not indicate a preference for the products mentioned but indicates the quality and characteristics of products that will meet the Government?s needs. The United States Coast Guard (USCG), Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic (MLCA) intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery Type contract for the purchase of Temperature Thermal Insulation Hybrid INCONEL Shield System for 87? Coastal Patrol Boats. This acquisition will be solicited as a Small Business Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Request for Quotations (RFQ) will be issued on or about April 24, 2006 via the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) web site at http://www.eps.gov with quotes due on or about May 22, 2006. The RFQ number will be HSCG80-06-Q-3FA592; hard copies of the RFQ will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS site for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an automatic notification service option. The NAICS Code is 333618. This acquisition will include one base year with two one-year option years with an estimated quantity of approximately 62 units over a 3 year period. The desired and required turn around time will be in the solicitation. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U. S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail to Mia.D.Grant@uscg.mil. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the USCG. The government will award a firm fixed price contract resulting from the RFQ on a lowest price technically acceptable. Anticipated date of award is on or about August 1, 2006.
